U11 Lang Son excels in the group stage of the National Children's Football Championship (U11)
On the evening of June 15, in Hai Phong City, the U11 Lang Son children's football team officially completed their group stage matches at the 2025 National Children's Football Championship (U11). The tournament is jointly organized by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF); Tien Phong and Nhi Dong Newspapers; and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City.
The U11 Children's Football Championship is a tournament within the national competition system that has been co-organized by the VFF since 1997. The group stage of the tournament is divided into three regional zones: Dak Lak (from June 2 to 16); Hai Phong (from June 5 to 16); and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (from June 11 to 22).
This year, the group stage in Hai Phong featured 22 teams from northern provinces, cities, and sectors, with a total of 440 athletes participating. The teams were divided into four groups, playing in a round-robin format to compete for tickets to the next round.

Participating in the group stage in Hai Phong, U11 Lang Son consisted of 20 athletes and played three matches against teams in Group A: U11 VFF Hanoi, U11 VFF Hai Phong, and U11 Nam Dinh. Initially, Group A was considered a challenging group for U11 Lang Son, as the other teams were highly rated in terms of skills and came from well-known youth football training units.

However, with persistence, continuous skill development, and strong match temperament, U11 Lang Son delivered explosive matches during the group stage, leaving a strong impression on the supporters. Upon completing the group stage, U11 Lang Son excellently secured 2 wins and 1 draw. Specifically, U11 Lang Son defeated VFF Hanoi 8 - 0 (morning of June 7); defeated VFF Hai Phong 2 - 1 (evening of June 11); and drew with Nam Dinh 2 - 2 (evening of June 15).

Based on the match results, the Lang Son children's team ranked second in Group A with 7 points and a goal difference of +9. As of now, U11 Lang Son is the second-best performing runner-up nationwide, only behind the U11 T&T VSH Youth Football Training Center team (goal difference +10).
Notably, in this year’s group stage, U11 Lang Son delivered several surprises, emerging as a prominent "dark horse" with an impressive performance, thereby opening up a great opportunity to qualify for the national final round (official results will be announced after the Ba Ria - Vung Tau group stage concludes).
Previously, in the 2024 season, U11 Lang Son also impressively passed the group stage and advanced to the final round of the tournament.
