The delegation of China attends the 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program in Lang Son province

As part of the ongoing 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program, on the morning of April 17, the delegation of China led by Senior Lieutenant General Dong Jun, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of National Defense, entered Vietnam through Huu Nghi International Border Gate in Cao Loc district to participate in the program’s activities in Lang Son province.

The Vietnamese delegation, headed by General Phan Van Giang, welcomed the Chinese delegation to the event. Also present at the ceremony were leaders of central Party committees, ministries, and agencies.

From Lang Son province, the welcoming delegation included Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mrs Doan Thi Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and leaders of several provincial departments and agencies.

Following the welcome ceremony, the Vietnamese and Chinese Defense Ministers planted a friendship tree at the Huu Nghi International Border Gate, visited Dong Dang Primary School and inaugurated the new multi-purpose building there, visited the Border Guard Station of the Huu Nghi International Border Gate, and toured the Lang Son Logistics Park. These solemn and meaningful activities contributed to further strengthening the friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and China.

Later the same day, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense of Vietnam, and Senior Lieutenant General Dong Jun, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of National Defense of China, along with both countries’ delegations, held bilateral talks in Lang Son city.
