In his opening speech, Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial Press Awards Council, affirmed: Over the past 100 years of formation and development, under the leadership of the Party, Vietnam's revolutionary press has always accompanied the nation, serving as a vanguard on the ideological front and a solid bridge between the Party, the State, and the people.
The press has effectively carried out the mission of informing and propagating the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws; reflecting all aspects of social life; promoting positive values, new factors, and effective models; honoring good people and good deeds; countering wrongful and hostile viewpoints; and contributing positively to the fight against corruption and negativity. These efforts have helped build the people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the management of the State.
In Lang Son, the press has constantly innovated, keeping pace with the province's development; expanding in scale, types, content, and format. Journalistic products have become increasingly diverse, keeping up with the trends of modern journalism in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, closely following orientation and promptly reflecting various sectors.

Recognizing the press's role, position, and important contributions, the province has issued many specific mechanisms, policies, programs, and plans to create favorable conditions for press activities—especially the organization of the Lang Son Provincial Press Awards since 2020. In 2025, the awards were held for the fifth time at the provincial level, receiving great attention, response, and participation from journalists and collaborators working at central and local press agencies, with 101 entries submitted. From 2020 to 2025, the Provincial Press Awards Council received over 500 entries from individual and group authors across print, electronic, radio, television, and photojournalism formats.
Many of these works were of high quality and won 25 awards at national, ministerial, and sectoral levels.
During the event, the Organizing Committee presented awards to 50 journalistic works by 29 individual authors and 21 author groups that won the 5th Lang Son Provincial Press Awards in 2025. Specifically, 4 works won A prizes, 10 works won B prizes, 15 works won C prizes, and 21 works received consolation prizes.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Doan Thi Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council, praised the achievements and results of the press and journalists in the province over the past period; acknowledged and expressed gratitude for the positive contributions of central press agencies and resident correspondents in the province in ideological work and public opinion orientation; and extended congratulations to the authors and groups of authors who won provincial press awards.

To effectively fulfill the requirements and tasks of provincial journalism in the coming time, the Chairwoman requested that Party committees, authorities, departments, and press agencies operating in the province, along with the team of journalists, continue to uphold the fine traditions of Vietnam’s revolutionary press; closely follow the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, as well as the province’s political tasks, to organize in-depth, effective, sensitive, and timely propaganda. In the near future, focus should be placed on communicating about the Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Party Congress; and the restructuring and streamlining of the political system's apparatus.
In addition, leaders of press agencies, the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, and the Journalists Association should continue to innovate and enhance management roles; pay attention to training and fostering journalists; "use the good to drive out the bad"; promote the application of digital technologies and foster digital transformation in press activities; and focus on developing multimedia journalism products.

The Chairwoman also requested that, after five editions, the Provincial Press Awards Council draw lessons and experiences to guide the next phase. On this occasion, she urged Party committees, authorities, agencies, and units to continue effectively implementing regulations on spokespersons; and to coordinate closely with press agencies in carrying out information and communication tasks.
She expressed confidence that the team of journalists in the province will continue the tradition of their predecessors, worthy of being revolutionary fighters with "bright eyes, pure hearts, and sharp pens," pioneering on the Party's ideological and cultural front, contributing to the province's ongoing development on the path of renewal and integration into the nation's new era.

On this occasion, 4 collectives and 23 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2025) in Lang Son province.
